Policies

Announcements
Due to the many problems we have had with the printer and the computers in the Cultural Center, application, music or game downloads will NOT be allowed. Please DO NOT install ANY programs or applications on the 3 Cultural Center computers. This has caused computer malfunctions and much work for the IT staff.

As of July 27, 2004-NO DOWNLOADS will be allowed in the Center. Center staff will be enforcing this policy so please make sure you do not download any applications or programs. If we continue to have these problems, there is a chance that those computers will be modified to be browse-only computers, so please help us keep them working and bug free. If you need an application for your homework, please talk to Ro.

Things to know:

The Computer Area
The Cultural Center is happy to provide computers and printer access to students. However, we are not a lab, so please do not count on us to be able to fix computer and printer problems immediately.

  • Always use a backup disk to save work. Everything is erased from the hard drive on a daily basis.
  • Printing station: you have to use BSU ID card to print.
  • Turn off the computer when you are done using it.

The Storage Area
The Center offers 8 tall lockers, 4 medium lockers and 4 small lockers for student organizational use.

The Kitchen
There is a microwave and refrigerator for your use in the Center. Please feel free to store your food and drinks there. Make sure to mark the date of items left over 1 day. There is pen and sticky notes for your use inside the fridge. Please remember to bus and wash your own dishes. Dirty dishes left in the sink will be thrown out.

The Lounge Area
Come hang out in our comfy lounge. The furniture is colorful and comfortable. Feel free to have informal meetings in the Center. If you'd like to use the area to have a regularly scheduled meeting, please contact the coordinator at 426-4317.

Phone Access
There is a phone located in the Cultural Center for student and organizational use. Students are not allowed to use staff phone or computers.

Card Access
If you would like 24-hour access to the Cultural Center, please fill out a form at the front desk and wait for a confirmation e-mail. Students with card access must use their card after 6pm. Not door propping or opening of front door to let other students in is allowed. We would like to know who is using the Center during after hours to gather information for future programming, so please help us with this.
